he Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa was purchased in 1991 by Serge & Guy Raoul, of Raoul’s Restaurant in NYC. Serge discovered the area through friend and local artist, Delmas Howe and was deeply moved by the power of the water, earth and spirits of the region. He wanted to honor these, while re-establishing the tradition of healing, transformation and self-discovery. Sierra Grande Lodge, as the original bathhouse, tapping the source of the geothermal water was his natural choice to establish such a place. The transformations and renovations have been extensive and on many levels. Even if you are just passing through we encourage you to stop in for a tour and of course a soak in the magical Hot Spring water…

oted local artist Delmas Howe was the link who first connected Serge Raoul to Truth or Consequences. Howe's striking realist works, evoke in rich detail, a mythical yet recognizable Western landscape. Infusing Greek myth and undertones of erotic language into everyday scenes of cowboy life, as it is lived in the most eccentric homes in the range.

oe Waldrum was a true artist of the desert, capturing its light and shadow through long years of study, most recently a series of painting and photographs of New Mexico churches. Waldrum embraced the code of the West, in both his art and his life. Joe Waldrum's enormous studio on Broadway, Rio Bravo Fine Art, still resonates with his magnetic presence after his death in December, 2003.
